Top Students Awarded HKFI Scholarships

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) today (4 April 2003) announced that five top Hong Kong students have been awarded the HKFI Scholarships. They are:
Mr Chan Kin Ho, Year-two student of Risk and Insurance Management at Lingnan University ;
Miss Cheung Hoi Yee, Edith, Year-two student of Risk and Insurance Management at Lingnan University ;
Mr Ho Lai On, Leon, Year-one student of Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong ;
Miss Yip Tik Yin, Year-two student of Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong ; and
Miss Chan Yin Ting, Year-three student of Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong.
Each scholar will receive a cash award of HK$20,000 annually until they complete their undergraduate studies.
Mr Cheng Kwok Ping, Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers said, "We are delighted to see the excellent academic performance of our Hong Kong Federation of Insurers scholars. The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers is confident that they will be invaluable assets to the insurance industry after graduation."
The HKFI Scholarship is funded by the HKFI Educational Trust, which was set up to provide financial support to deserving students who demonstrate outstanding academic merit and leadership qualities. Since its inception in 1989, the HKFI Educational Trust has awarded 54 scholarships to students majoring in Risk and Insurance Management at the Lingnan University and Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong.
