The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers Commits to Work with Government on Developing the Voluntary Private Healthcare Insurance Scheme

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) met with the Food and Health Bureau (FHB) on 25 March 2010 to discuss the setting up of the proposed Voluntary Private Healthcare Insurance Scheme (Scheme). 

At the meeting, the HKFI had a frank and constructive dialogue with Dr York Chow, Secretary for Food and Health, and Mr K P Chan, Legislative Councillor of the insurance sector, on a raft of issues relating to the development of the Scheme. 

"We are very pleased to see that the FHB is committed to working closely with the HKFI and the insurance industry in developing a Voluntary Private Healthcare Insurance Scheme," said Mr James Wong, Chairman of the HKFI.  "Together with the FHB and all relevant stakeholders, we are confident that we will be able to map out a proposed Scheme that would serve the best interest of the public."
