The HKFI donated HK$500,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support relief operations for victims affected by snow storms in the Mainland

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) today (14 February) donated HK$500,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support relief operations for victims affected by the recent severe snow storms in the Mainland.

"We are saddened to see about 100 million people suffering from such indescribable hardships, and we at the HKFI want to do our part in support of the admirable relief work being conducted by the Hong Kong Red Cross in the hardest-hit areas", said Mr Michael Huddart, Chairman of the HKFI.

"Chinese New Year is a time for celebration with families, relatives and friends.  During this festive season we are mindful of the well-being of the victims of the snow storms and hope to share with them the warmth and concern from all members of our industry", added Mr Huddart.

In the affected areas, victims are receiving from the Hong Kong Red Cross emergency provision of daily necessities including food, warm clothing/quilts and other basic supplies.
