The HKFI donated HK$500,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support relief operations for victims affected by earthquakes and Tsunamis in Asia

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) today (31 December 2004) donated HK$500,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support relief operations for victims affected by Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Asia.
"We are deeply saddened to see the huge and rising death tolls and loss of properties caused by this devastating disaster, and we at the HKFI wish to do our part in support of the hum anita rian relief operations being conducted by the Hong Kong Red Cross in the affected areas", said Mr K P Chan, Chairman of the HKFI.
"Our member companies are committed to doing the best they can to assist insured travellers in processing any potential claims in the days ahead", added Mr Chan.
Relief operations of the Hong Kong Red Cross in the affected areas include the emergency provision of daily necessities including clean water, food, medicine, blankets, shelter materials, etc.
