The HKFI donated HK$200,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support relief operations for victims affected by earthquake in Nepal

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) today (11 May 2015) donated HK$200,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support its relief operations for victims affected by the earthquake in Nepal.

"The devastating earthquake took away numerous precious lives and left tens of thousands of victims injured and homeless. We at the HKFI want to do our part to help with the crucial relief work being conducted by the Hong Kong Red Cross in the affected areas", said Mr Mike Lee, Chairman of the HKFI.

"To the victims and their families, we send our deepest condolences. We have also called on our member companies to pitch in. Our industry is united with the rest of the community to contribute what we can to assist the quake survivors ", added Mr Lee.

The earthquake survivors are receiving from the Hong Kong Red Cross emergency provision of basic necessities including food, clean water, tents, blankets, medical supplies, etc.
