28/2/2020
The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) announced today (Friday, 28 February 2020) the launch of the brand new “Insurance Dashboard on COVID-19” (https://www.hkfi.org.hk/covid19), a thematic website on insurance information pertaining to COVID-19.
With a simple and reader-friendly layout, the website highlights the coverage of travel, medical, employees’ compensation and critical illness insurances under COVID-19, alongside a FAQ section.
"Not only has the recent outbreak of COVID-19 placed a considerable impact on outbound travellers, it has also aroused a lot of public interests on the coverage of insurance policies,” said Mr Praveen Daswani, Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers. “With the new thematic website launched by the HKFI, the public will get a comprehensive overview of insurance coverage in the context of COVID-19 through this one-stop platform.”
HKFI member companies have rolled out various alleviation measures in the light of the COVID-19 outbreak. To facilitate the understanding of policyholders and the public on these facilitations, HKFI has conducted a survey to garner relevant information from its members. Over 50 insurance companies responded in the first round of the exercise. Upon consolidation, the measures adopted by insurers have been uploaded at the “Insurance Dashboard on COVID-19”. The website will be updated from time to time to provide policyholders with the latest, reliable and comprehensive information.
In addition to the website "Insurance Dashboard on COVID-19", the public may also visit HKFI’s Facebook fan page "HKFI Smart Union” (https://www.facebook.com/HKFI.SmartUnion) for instant and up-to-date insurance know-how anytime, anywhere.
