Insurance Industry Supported Walk for a Greener Future

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) announced today (Wednesday, 1 March 2006) the winners of the HKFI Cup of the Green Power Hike.
Ten teams from the insurance sector joined the Green Power Hike and competed for the HKFI Cup on 25 February 2006. Manulife (International) Limited won the 50 km race from the Peak to Big Wave Bay in 6 hours 41 minutes. The winner of the 25 km category went to Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.- Hong Kong Branch who finished the race between Tai Tam Country Park and Big Wave Bay in 3 hours 44 minutes.
The insurance sector raised a total of HK$100,000 in this walkathon to support Green Power's work on environmental education.
Speaking at the ceremony just before the start held at the Peak Galleria, HKFI Chairman Mr Roddy Anderson said, "We at the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers are delighted to have the opportunity to join forces with our business partners in sponsoring this meaningful charitable walkathon. It demonstrates once again the dedication of our industry in playing an active part in supporting environmental education for a greener future."
