The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) welcomes the commencement of public consultation on Basic Law Article 23 legislation.

The HKFI believes that a stable business environment serves as the bedrock for the growth of the insurance industry. We support any legislation that bolsters Hong Kong's position as a global risk management center, enhances long-term prosperity of the Hong Kong insurance sector and supporting the city in becoming the preferred destination for conducting business.

The HKFI encourages the participation of the insurance industry in the public consultation of Basic Law Article 23 and welcomes the Government’s efforts to explain in detail the legislation to the public and eliminate any unfounded misconceptions.
